The Redwood City Planning Commission is set to decide Tuesday whether to approve a 131-townhouse development along the waterfront that requires a zoning map amendment.

Submitted by Strada Investment group, the development located at 1548 Maple St. encompasses 20 three-story buildings with attached garages, according to a staff report.

It is interesting that no discussion appears to have occurred regarding potential impact/mitigation of future sea level rise. It will happen...

Are they out of their minds? Building below sea level while facing global sea level rises? Knowing Foster City is planning billions to make it's dikes higher? Knowing about the effects of liquification resulting from earthquakes? Knowing the vital effect of tidal lands in protecting from storm surges? Knowing there is inadequate infrastructure and public transit serving this isolated community?
