CSM shocks the Hawks

Nathan Mollat / Daily Journal CSM's Sean Wilson successfully steals second and then went to third when the throw got by the Cosumnes River shortstop in the first game of the best-of-3 series in the first round of the California Community College baseball playoffs.

The Hitman struck just in the nick of time.

And thanks to College of San Mateo sophomore Brett Hart, the Bulldogs went from the depths of despair to pure nirvana. Hart's walk-off, two-run double with two out in the bottom of the 12th inning lifted CSM to a nail-biting, come-from-behind 7-6 win over Cosumnes River in Game 1 of a best-of-three Northern California playoff series on Friday. The teams play Game 2 at 11 a.m. Saturday, with a third game, if necessary, to be followed afterwards.
