This year Millbrae celebrates her 70th anniversary of becoming a municipal corporation. We have very important decisions to make about whom we want to have lead us forward on our journey to become stronger and more meaningful locally and regionally. Progress will be as great as the way in which we recognize issues, face our challenges and wisely use the opportunities given to us.
This is not the time in Millbrae’s history to risk losing two very good councilmembers who have the most proven essential credentials, government experience, commitment, diligent patience and vision to ensure that Millbrae, and we the people, will add strength and pride to our community and beyond.
Whether our opinions are aligned or differ, we do not need negative, only positive leaders who are advocates, who will work for our greater good and keep us moving forward to where we ought to be at any point in time. We need leaders who think outside the box while preserving all that is good, who are mature and caring protectors of the safety of our community and who understand and will continue to work hard so that the best is yet to come for Millbrae.
Respectfully, I ask you to please vote to re-elect Anne Oliva and Reuben Holober on your Nov. 6 ballot. Please vote “YES” on Millbrae’s ballot Measure II to build a new recreation center. Deliver or mail your ballot ASAP.

it is obvious to many Millbrae voters that the Daily Journal has lost credibility when you were critical the challenger You You XUE of being i.e. to quick to oppose corruption in the Millbrae city council. Printing the hit from Marge is just more proof of that. Marge needs help, she is showing signs of Stockholm syndrome
The establishment propping up the establishment. I'm so surprised...
Millbrae residents are ready for change and ready to elect leaders who will take this city in a better direction and solve challenges that have not been addressed.
Mr. Xue, what are your qualifications exactly to be running for office? Is it because your father owns a restaurant in town? Is it because of your Tesla incident? Surely those are not the criteria one would expect, as I am sure you would agree. I have searched for your record on public service, corporate leadership skills, administration skills in a complex matrix organization or even having a legal background. I have not been able discover any discernable experience that would provide the citizens of our town with the comfort level you have honed those abilities to date. Your statement rings hollow as it truly does not distinguish yourself from those who have bonified experience. That is what Millbrae needs.
