I have lived in Belmont for 13 years now. Lately, I have seen between two and four travel trailers parked on El Camino Real. I asked a traffic agent about this and they said a new ordinance allowed these vehicles to park for six days and then leave the area. She also said that they do not enforce the part about leaving. These mobile homes used by homeless people as a place to live are an eyesore and should not be allowed to park at all, let alone six days. They just move to another location every six days.
As a taxpayer, I am appalled that such an ordinance was ever enacted. I think Belmont should rethink this and go back to not allowing any parking of travel trailers on our streets.
