Editor,

Life on Earth has always flourished at higher levels of CO2 and temperature than we have today, according to climate scientist Ian Plimer. But he says life has always perished when the Earth was colder as in the Little Ice Age that ended in 1850 after causing the Great Famine in Europe that killed millions of people. NASA says that the Earth is now greener in almost every region than 50 years ago. Growing seasons are now longer and there is more arable land. This is why many nations in the U.N. do not want to be cooled.

Cool. So all those people drowned or displaced by rising seas will have plenty of food.

I think the author misunderstands the whole global climate change deal. Also, the earth is greener in some areas because we burn fossil fuels (and renewables) instead of cutting down trees. The issue is that the sun's heat is held close to the earth. Now, snow and ice are melting. Also, the heat change is creating intense weather events. It's true that big factors are also: disrupted water cycles (we don't put water back into the ground around here) and thermal mass in the form of asphalt and buildings.

Why is this misinformation allowed on this site? Ian Plimer is a known climate sceptic who fudged the data for his book and is riding the anti global warming wage with misinformation.

You mean like how the NOAA fudged their data to create a hockey stick pattern to convince us of global warming? Follow the money. If your global warming research, and career, was based on faulty data, would you now admit all of your conclusions are faulty? It would mean the end of the gravy train. As for misinformation, have you read the Trumper tantrum letters that are full of lies? Or watched CNN or read the NYT?
