I’m confused by Caltrain’s recent threats to “close a third of its stations.”

There should not be a regional tax measure. Since the State has passed so many housing bills (to eliminate parking) it should fund public transit. State and Federal government love creating unfunded mandates on Cities and Counties who are already struggling to cover existing costs.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Donnelly. I’d recommend everyone call Caltrain’s bluff, especially since Caltrain continued operating at 100% capacity with 50% or less ridership during the COVID years, benefiting only union transportation workers. While of course, also blowing $2.5 billion on electrification, again benefiting union labor. Vote NO on any tax measures.
