Julie Ann Flahavan, late of Redwood City and San Mateo County resident for her entire life, entered into rest at her residence on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Devoted daughter of Rose Flahavan and the late Thomas. Dear sister of Carolyn Schlaefer (her husband Michael), Tom Flahavan (his wife Donnie), Dan Flahavan (his wife Christy) and the late John Flahavan (his wife Jennifer). Loving aunt of Michael, Kevin, Daniel, Haley and Tenley along with cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Grew up in Millbrae, California, 54 years of age.
Special Olympics were a big part of Julie’s life being acknowledged as the most inspirational athlete in 1987; Won a gold medal for power lifting at the international special Olympics in 1991; Chosen by “Dancing with the Stars” to compete in Austria winning the gold for her performance with her family and friends in attendance.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 27, 2024 at Saint Dunstan Catholic Church, 1133 Broadway in Millbrae at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.
