San Mateo residents and members of the City Council celebrated Patrice Olds’ 12-year tenure as city clerk during a meeting Monday, April 15.

Olds, who will officially retire April 26, began at the City Clerk’s Office in 2012 after working for the city of Walnut Creek for about a decade prior. She said she fell into the role almost by accident, after working as an account temp and in a community development role in the East Bay city.
