A 37-year-old Redwood City man was arrested Nov. 22 for trying to meet up for sex with a 17-year-old girl with whom he worked at the Sequoia Station Mathnasium this week, according to police.
On Nov. 20, the man, identified as Pouya Asrar, allegedly initiated a text-based conversation with the victim, who informed him of his age. He allegedly acknowledged that and continued to message her, with the messages becoming lewd and sexual in nature, according to police.
Redwood City police detectives were able to get the suspect to allegedly come to a location where he thought he was going to meet the victim for sex. He was arrested and had condoms on him, according to police.
Detectives will be conducting further investigation to determine if there are any additional victims. Anyone who has any information regarding this case is asked to call the Redwood City Police Department at (650) 780-7100.
