President Donald Trump said Tuesday he is "not ready to leave" Iran yet, but vowed an exit "in the very near future." The president also told reporters he's not worried about a long, protracted war like Vietnam, saying, “I’m really not afraid of anything."

Israel kept up its campaign of targeting Iran's leaders in an effort to weaken the country's ruling theocracy, killing its third top official in two days. An Iranian offshore natural gas field was struck in a sign of the war's mounting pressure — from both sides — on the region's economic lifeblood: energy. Oil prices surged 5% above $108 a barrel, pushing up the price of gasoline around the world. An Israeli strike killed Iran's intelligence minister overnight, with Iranian state television confirmed the death of Esmail Khatib. Iran lashed out early on Wednesday with multiple attacks on its Persian Gulf neighbors and Israel. An AP source says the U.S. was informed about Israel's plans to strike on Iranian gas field but did not take part in it.
Israel killed two senior Iranian security officials in a major blow to the country’s leadership. Iran, which confirmed both killings, renewed its attacks Wednesday on its Gulf Arab neighbors and Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the deaths of Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Gen. Gholam Reza Soleimani, the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s all-volunteer Basij force. Larijani was considered one of the most powerful figures in the country since Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on the first day of the war.
