The city of Redwood Cit announced it has joined other local governments in a lawsuit challenging new federal restrictions on congressionally authorized grant funding.

The legal action, originally filed by the city of Fresno and other jurisdictions, seeks to protect $25.3 million in grant funding allocated to Redwood City. The lawsuit names the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Transportation, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as defendants.

So Redwood City is willing to waste taxpayer money to fight the federal government when Redwood City can easily remove the term “equity” from grant documentation? I guess it reinforces the conclusion that any grant funding provided to RWC was to be used only for pushing a “woke” agenda. Let’s hope the federal government forces RWC to waste more than $25.3 million to obtain $25.3 million, assuming RWC prevails.
