Construction has begun on a 278-unit, six-story development in Millbrae that is expected to complete by 2027, according to a press release from Trammell Crow Company, the developer.
The development, located at 959 El Camino Real and known as One Meadow Glen, includes 26 below market-rate apartments and a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
It’s a mixed-use development, also including 17,000 feet of retail space on the ground floor and an agreement for a nearby public plaza on an adjacent, city-owned lot.
An improvement plan that goes alongside the project will include updates to sewer and water lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street trees along El Camino Real.
The project’s location is ideal for future residents, the press release touted, noting adjacency to stores like Trader Joe’s and Safeway as well as public transit.
“This project marks the first multifamily start in Millbrae since the pandemic, bringing much-needed housing options and vibrant retail space to the heart of downtown,” Brian Pianca, a principal at High Street Residential — a subsidiary of Trammell Crow — said in the press release.
