A 23-year-old Redwood City man pleaded not guilty Friday to plying three teen boys with liquor, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms after they asked him to buy them beer at a 7-Eleven earlier in the week.

Luis Albornoz remains in custody in lieu of $150,000 bail and was ordered back to court July 15 for a Superior Court review conference followed by a July 22 preliminary hearing.

The three minors, ages 11, 13 and 14, allegedly met Albornoz July 6 at the 7-Eleven convenience store and he agreed to purchase them alcohol. They reportedly went to his Redwood City apartment where he offered them the drugs.

San Carlos police arrested Albornoz after a medical call for a vomiting 13-year-old led back to him as the provider of the substances. Although all three boys ingested marijuana and beer and two took the psilocybin, only the one was physically ill, according to authorities.

Albornoz told authorities he ditched the psilocybin mushrooms after police came to his residence. Marijuana was reportedly found on the premises.

Albornoz was charged with seven felonies and faces up to 10 years prison if convicted.
