A fire damaged multiple units of an apartment building in Daly City on Friday morning after apparently starting on a kitchen stovetop, according to the North County Fire Authority.
Firefighters responded at 7:37 a.m. to the fire reported at 321 Price St. and arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor of a three-story building. Crews entered the second-story unit and found a stovetop fire that had been extinguished, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, however, two dogs were rescued from the unit and returned to their owners. Authorities noted fire damage in the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the unit, as well as fire damage to the third-floor unit above, according to the fire authority.
Four residents and the two dogs received assistance from the American Red Cross following the fire. The North County Fire Authority, which serves Brisbane and Pacifica along with Daly City, reminded residents to never leave the kitchen while cooking.
