Three people were displaced after a kitchen fire at an apartment in Daly City on Friday morning, according to the North County Fire Authority.
Crews responded shortly before 10 a.m. to a fire reported at an apartment building at 240 Lake Merced Blvd. and arrived to find smoke coming from the back kitchen window on the first floor of the two-story building, fire officials said.
The fire was extinguished after causing extensive smoke damage throughout the unit. No injuries were reported and investigators determined the fire started accidentally in the oven with multiple combustible items in close proximity, according to the fire authority.
The North County Fire Authority serves the cities of Daly City, Brisbane and Pacifica in San Mateo County.
