Two people were arrested in San Mateo earlier this week on suspicion of numerous felonies, misdemeanors and outstanding warrants, police said.
On Monday, just before 9 p.m., officers carried out a traffic stop in the area of Chess Drive and Bridgepointe Parkway. The car’s driver was found to have a misdemeanor bench warrant, according to police on Tuesday.
Officers carried out a consent search of the vehicle, they said, and allegedly found unlawful paraphernalia, several fraudulent driver’s licenses with his picture on them, and binders and notebooks containing other people’s identifying information, including Social Security numbers, driver’s license information, addresses and trust and banking information.
Before his car was pulled over, an officer allegedly saw a woman speaking with him inside the vehicle. Police attempted to locate the woman, who was found hiding behind a car to the rear of a nearby hotel, according to police. She had two outstanding warrants and allegedly gave a false name to police. After she was detained, officers searched two of her suitcases that were nearby and allegedly found methamphetamine, heroin, Xanax packaged for sale and other drug paraphernalia. Police also allege she had fraudulent California driver’s licenses and other people’s personal identifying information.
