Three small earthquakes struck near Hayward on Thursday along the Hayward Fault, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first 3.4-magnitude quake struck at 11:52 a.m. about 2 kilometers southeast of Hayward, with a second quake registering 3.2 in the same spot two minutes later, the USGS said.
A smaller quake also occurred there earlier Thursday morning, a 2.7-magnitude quake reported at 5:03 a.m. A third quake of 3.6 magnitude hit at about 2 p.m.
