Astronomer Michael Brown, Ph.D., from the California Institute of Technology presents "How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had it Coming!” sharing the inside story of how he discovered "other Plutos” beyond Neptune, leading to the controversial demotion of Pluto from planet status. Brown will be signing books after the lecture. 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 in the Smithwick Theatre at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. Admission is free and the public is invited. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive early to locate parking. A parking permit is required at all times. Purchase a permit for $2 from dispensers in any student lot.
