Burlingame 2, Aragon 1
The Panthers opened Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division play with the win over the Dons.
Burlingame (1-0 PAL Bay, 1-2-1 overall) picked up its first win of the season by scoring twice in the first half and then holding off Aragon (0-1) in the second half. Gaelle Anne-Foy opened the scoring for the Panthers with an unassisted goal. Mika Haggarty made it 2-0 by halftime, off an assist from Miya Stinbech.
Menlo School 2, Sequoia 1
The Knights picked up their first win of the season, pulling out the non-league win by scoring the game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes to play.
Menlo (1-1-2) took a 1-0 lead at halftime on a Krista Arreola penalty kick. Sequoia (1-1-1) tied the score in the 65th minute, but the Knights pulled out the win when Arreola headed home a corner from Jazlyn Romero-Garcia with under eight minutes to play.
Terra Nova 2, Riordan 0
The Tigers scored a goal in each half to beat the Crusaders in a non-league match.
Daniella Guterres and Aleah McArthur each scored for Terra Nova (3-1), with Laney Wilson and Geneva Chan picking up assist. A pair of freshman goalkeeper, Whitney O’Reilly and Juliet Long combined on the shutout. O’Reilly played the bulk of the game, 70 of the 80 minutes, with Long completing the clean sheet over the final 10 minutes.
Riordan falls to 1-2 on the season.
Carlmont 2, Pioneer 2
After a scoreless first half, the teams combined for four second-half goals as they finished with a draw.
Eva Awoyinka scored for Carlmont (2-1-1), with the Scots’ other goal being a Pioneer (2-1-1) own goal.

Design Tech (1-0) opened its season with a 3-0 win over More (1-1).

Los Gatos (1-1-1) picked up its first win by thumping Sacred Heart Prep (1-2), 5-0.
Hillsdale (1-2-1) and Gunn (0-3-1) played to a scoreless draw.
Lynbrook (3-1) shut out Mills (3-4), 3-0.
Marin Catholic (1-0-2) drilled El Camino (2-3), 8-0.

Harker (1-1) beat Nueva School (1-3), 3-1.

Men’s college soccer
Cerritos 3, Cañada 2
The Colts advanced to the state final four for the second season in a row and for the second consecutive year, fell in the semifinal game to eventual champion Cerritos last Friday at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.
Cañada (14-3-6) took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute, when Francesco Lipparoni guided home a corner kick from Diego Ruiz for just his second goal of the season.
Cerritos (18-6-2), which would beat Hartnell in 2-1 in overtime in the state final, tied the score against the Colts in the 31st minute to level the score at 1-all at halftime.
It didn’t take the Falcons long after halftime to take the lead, scoring the go-ahead goal just two minutes after the break, but the Colts responded five minutes to tie the game at 2-all on Isaiah Flor’s fifth goal of the season, off an assist from Altai Ordubadi.
But Cerritos pulled out the victory with what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute.
