Burlingame’s road-warrior scoring exploits continued right into the Central Coast Section quarterfinals.

After Tuesday’s win by 64 points at Soledad, a program record for a CCS playoff game, the No. 5-seed Panthers (18-8) rallied back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter Thursday to win 61-52 on the road in the Division II boys’ basketball quarterfinals at No. 4 Westmont-Campbell (20-4).
Trailing 44-34 after Soledad senior Ian Strathmeier’s uncontested hook shot with 7:30 remaining in regulation, Burlingame senior Jean-Luc Uharriet drilled a 3-pointer from the far-side wing to spark an 20-2 run, capped 3 1/2 minutes later when Uharriet tightrope walked the baseline to drop a bounce-pass dime to 6-2 junior David Parrot, who hit a touch layup while drawing a foul then posing down with an and-1 flex. Parrot followed through with the go-ahead free throw, and Burlingame kept adding on till the finish.
The Panthers overcame two earlier deficits. The Warriors took a 14-12 early in the second quarter, but Burlingame answered with a 6-0. A 24-23 Westmont lead early in the second half was met with a Burlingame senior Zach Zamalin’s left-handed scoop layup in traffic to swing the Panthers ahead.
Burlingame now takes its Cinderella run into the Division II semifinals for a trip to San Jose for a showdown with No. 1 Willow Glen. The Rams took down No. 8 Gunn-Palo Alto 67-52 Tuesday night. Tipoff at Willow Glen is set for Thursday at 7 p.m.
