Editor,

I found the letters written to the San Mateo Daily Journal by some young people in our community very interesting and heartfelt. They have been vocalizing their fear of certain doom to our state due to the perils of climate change, drought and fire. This is not an argument either for or against climate change, it is simply several questions put to these young people regarding their strongly held beliefs to advance the conversation.

Mr. Conway - great letter! I look forward to finding out whether you receive any answers to your questions. I feel that these letters are more from their parents than are actually from the youngsters, as the writing styles are more indicative of adult bias. I could be wrong, but I will probably be correct in that some of the usual suspects will be commenting and taking potshots at you, instead of providing some useful answers.

Chris, your letter seems very confusing. You mention that while the kids are concerned about climate change they shouldn't be in favor of 'open borders' whatever that might mean. Well the climate affects the whole of planet earth both north and south of the border. So it doesn't matter where folks live at all unless they plan to migrate in from some distant spaceship to earth. Maybe that's what you mean by illegal 'aliens'?

Christopher Conway

No, by illegal aliens I am talking about the 20 million plus human beings that are in our country illegally. It is the legal name America labels law breakers. Yes, I do believe that those kids concerned about climate change should also be concerned about unlimited migration into our state. Seems pretty easy to understand to me.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, I present Usual Suspect Exhibit #1. No answers, as expected from Mr. Caggiano.

Mike, 90% of his letter writing ability is confusing. Instead of reading and absorbing the content of anybody who disagrees with him, he instead wants to prove he is right. He is a score-keeper. Then the Y to the T associate comes along as a pay for hire and applauds his thought process. There will be no Donald in 2020.

Action on climate change demands reducing commutes, by building housing near jobs instead of continuing the pattern of sprawl. There's really no contradiction.
