Anna Eshoo has been on the Health Subcommittee for 18 years and chair since 2018.
Due to a flawed program called Medicare Advantage, tens of billions of taxpayer dollars are wrongfully paid to the health insurance industry causing depletion of the Medicare Trust Fund. Since Anna became chair, the wrongful payments to this industry have increased from $140 billion in the last 10 years to a projected $600 billion in the next nine years.
Rep. Eshoo’s job is to oversee the Medicare Trust Fund and the financial health of the system, yet, she has accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from the health insurance industry, the very industry she is to oversee, and has failed to provide any oversight. She has also failed to advise her constituents about the many risks of enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan allowing the insurance companies to continue to prosper at the expense of the taxpayer.
You make some bold statements in your Letter to the Editor today. “flawed program”, “tens of billions of taxpayers dollars are wrongfully paid”, “failed to advise her constituents about the many risks of enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan”.
I do not know your background or expertise but if you are going to state such items I would like to know the source of your information along with an explanation of your comments. Why is the program flawed? Why are the payments wrongful? What are the many risks?
I have a Medicare Advantage plan and I have not had any problems with it. My tests and procedures have been approved and bills have been paid.
