Responding to Joe Guttenbeil’s request for answers to some interesting questions in his letter printed in Sept 14-15 edition. Joe’s questions can only be answered by Trump or Harris but what we can do is query Factcheck.org about Trump’s record.
1). The economy lost 2.7 million jobs under Trump.
2). The international trade deficit Trump promised to reduce went up. The U.S. trade deficit in goods and services in 2020 was the highest since 2008 and increased 36.3% from 2016.
3). The number of people lacking health insurance rose by 3 million.
4). The federal debt held by the public went up, from $14.4 trillion to $21.6 trillion.
5). Illegal immigration increased during Trump’s administration.
6). Handgun production rose 12.5% compared with 2016, setting a new record.
7). The murder rate rose to the highest level since 1997.
Do we really want a repeat of policies that produced these kinds of results? (I don’t.)

Trump’d up heads have no space “left” for facts, nor any respect or understanding! That should be obvious by now!
Mr. Kistler, I’ll give you credit for compiling a list of cherry-picked statistics. However, as simple searches will reveal, your statistics won’t hold up to our current reality. For instance, many of your cherry-picked statistics are based upon the introduction by China of COVID. After we ignore those items, we notice that you fail to reveal in your other statistics that things are worse now under Biden/Harris than during Trump’s tenure. To wit, international trade deficit, federal debt, illegal immigration, murder rate, etc. Of course, you conveniently forget the biggest boogeyman of all, the inflation caused by Biden/Harris America Last policies and the new wars occurring because Biden/Harris knelt and gifted Afghanistan to the Taliban. And not one word about the multitude of lies Harris spewed during the debate… Do we really want a continuance of Biden/Harris America Last policies? We don’t. Vote for Trump to Make America Great Once Again.
A lot of Tump’s borrowing was for the COVID recovery while Biden’s was to grow government at the expense of the privates sector. Trump’s WARP speed vaccine distribution plan enabled “basement” Biden to get an immunization before taking office. Trump handed Biden a thriving economy but Biden's policies produced the highest inflation in 40 years that outpaced wage increases. Immigration under Biden and Kamal reached historic highs that hurt our school and our social programs.
Larry - the usual applies; there are lies, darn lies and statistics. You don't seem to have a handle on any of the detrimental statistics that the Biden Administration, with the help of tie-votes by Harris, which are those that we must endure daily. Yes, give me the wonder years when Trump was able to pull us out of the muck until the CCP threw a monkey wrench into the gears. BTW, gun production and purchases went up because of the Congress' incessant threats to abolish gun ownership. Your side of the isle in action, buddy!
