Editor,

San Mateo’s recently adopted strategic plan, initiatives and recommittal of resolution 24 contain numerous social justice goals for San Mateo. Resolution 24 states that the city seeks to promote and enhance the health, safety and welfare for all its residents. It goes on to say we will respect and support every resident of the community and deliver essential services that promote a safe quality of life all the while being the model of inclusion and equity.

No thanks, Mr. Ebneter. If this detox center is fulfilling a woke agenda, we don’t want it. Go woke, go broke, as the saying goes. In fact, I would hope that if this detox center is placed on El Camino, that the opposition musters up lawfare, as needed, to delay the project as long as possible. Until a more appropriate location is selected. After all, we don’t want delays to keep the county from being a haven for those needing lifesaving medical attention.
