Elizabeth Mary Angé died 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 after a short, unexpected illness. Elizabeth Mary Angé was born Oct. 24, 1919 in New York City. She graduated as class valedictorian in 1938 from St. Patrick’s Cathedral high school and following; attended Hunter College in New York. She worked at Macy’s Department Store (Herald Square) in the book department until 1945 where she met and then married Gerard Angé, a French Navy officer in the Free French Navy. They resided in Berkshire County, Mass. and also in New York City and had two children. In 1959, she relocated to San Mateo, and later to Palo Alto. She retired from the city of San Mateo Main Public Library in 1982 after over 20 years of employment and following moved to Granite Bay in 1988.
