The County of Santa Clara Registrar of Voters certified the results of Thursday’s special runoff election, confirming Anthony Tordillos as the new representative for San Jose City Council District 3, officials announced.
Anthony Tordillos
Tordillos will be sworn into office at the Aug. 12 City Council meeting.
The runoff followed an April 8 special election and drew 8,366 ballots, representing a 17.73% turnout among the district’s 47,189 registered voters, the Registrar of Voters noted.
“Our office follows stringent post-election processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the elections process,” said Matt Moreles, Registrar of Voters. “The canvass period gives us time to perform critical checks and audits that are essential to providing fair, inclusive, accurate and transparent elections for the voters of Santa Clara County.”
