A chain reaction car crash involving three vehicles pinned a woman to the wall of a Blockbuster Video store in Burlingame Monday, police reported.
The female pedestrian, reportedly in her 30s, was rushed to Stanford Medical Center with "very serious" injuries, according to a police press release. All workers and customers inside the store at 261 Park Road were unharmed, according to manager Sonjy Daf.
Two front doors and a window in the store were damaged, Daf said.
"We weren't paying attention to the front and then we heard a crash and saw the car come into the front door," Daf said.
Burlingame police are still investigating the incident but believe a vehicle was exiting a city parking lot on Park Road around 2 p.m. when it moved or rolled backward, striking the vehicle behind it. The driver of the first vehicle was startled and hit the gas peddle instead of the break, according to the press release.
The vehicle then sped across Park Road, striking a car parked in a diagonal stall in front of Blockbuster Video. The parked car went over the curb, pinning the female pedestrian between it and the store wall.
