A 40-year-old unhoused man in San Carlos has been charged with felony assault and battery on a minor after allegedly attacking a 15-year-old for had asked him if he wanted food, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Ming Li, allegedly hit the 15-year-old multiple times at a San Carlos bus stop on Monday afternoon after the teen asked him if he was alright and if he wanted something to eat, Wagstaffe said.
Li has also been charged with misdemeanor assault for swinging and missing at another individual at the bus stop.
The victim was bleeding from his ear and lip when police arrived and arrested Li, but did not require hospitalization, Wagstaffe said.
Li will go to court May 28 for arraignment and entry of plea.
