Two men were arrested early Monday morning for allegedly spraying gang-related graffiti at more than a dozen locations in South San Francisco, according to police.
Officers responded at 12:21 a.m. to a report from a witness who said two male suspects were spraying graffiti on the side of the Estrada’s Meat Market building at 612 Linden Ave., police said.
The officers arrived and contacted two suspects who matched the description provided by the witness. One, later identified as 28-year-old Wolfgang Lopez, tried to flee but was quickly apprehended, police said.
The second suspect, 29-year-old Ignacio Contreras, was also arrested. Contreras and Lopez, both South San Francisco residents, were booked into the county jail on suspicion of felony vandalism, according to police.
During the subsequent investigation, police discovered more than 15 locations in the 500, 600 and 700 blocks of Linden Avenue that had freshly painted gang graffiti.
