A 44-year-old Union City man’s arrest has led to the recovery of stolen property from multiple storage unit burglaries, San Mateo police say.
Aaron Hassan was accused of being a felon/addict in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors, possession of controlled substance and second-degree burglary from a building.
A community service officer was dispatched Wednesday to a storage facility in the 2200 block of South Delaware Street. Three storage units had been burglarized, with several victims reporting the loss of valuable tools, electronics, rare memorabilia, collectibles and firearms, police said.
The following day the officer obtained a license plate linking the three storage burglaries and to other burglaries and attempted burglaries, police said.
Police searched Hassan’s vehicle and turned up several stolen items and narcotics. A search of his home uncovered more stolen items, including two firearms, police said.
