The establishment of the first-ever child day care center tailored exclusively for San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office employees was announced by Sheriff Christina Corpus Thursday.
The new facility will offer accessible, affordable and high-quality child care for the children of San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office employees, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Northern California. The day care center is designed to meet the unique needs of law enforcement families, offering extended operating hours that match unpredictable schedules and ensuring care is available to parents working nontraditional shifts. The center is also a way to attract new workers as staffing levels have been an issue.
The Sheriff’s Office has already secured a leased space for the child day care center in North Fair Oaks.
