PG&E is nearing completion of their work on Ralston Avenue and the next phase of the project to begin Monday, Oct. 30, includes restoration of the project site which includes paving and restriping of the road, according to the city of Belmont.
Pacific Gas and Electric’s contractor will be repaving the westbound lanes on Ralston Avenue between Alameda de las Pulgas to east of Davis Drive, Cipriani Avenue between Ralston Avenue and Prindle Road, and Cornet Boulevard north of Ralston Avenue, according to the city.
Uneven road surfaces will exist at times. Bicyclists and drivers should use caution during the construction period. Alternate routes are suggested. The first phase is from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Monday, Oct. 30, and Wednesday, Nov. 1, and includes grinding of the existing pavement, intersection and side street conform paving and isolated patching. The second phase will take place concurrently from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Wednesday, Nov. 1, and continue through the weekend to Tuesday, Nov. 7, and includes applying a final asphalt overlay. The last phase is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Wednesday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 2, and include the final lane striping and cleanup, according to the city.Â
The schedule is subject to change due to equipment and weather conditions. Due to the nature of work, long delays are anticipated and alternate routes or carpooling are suggested, according to the city.
