A 71-year-old Pescadero man who pleaded no contest in February to felony child molestation for reportedly molesting two of his daughter’s friends as well as a former resident of his property was sentenced to 10 years in state prison Wednesday, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

In custody on $6.4 million bail, Daniel Miranda received 1,144 days credit for time served and was also required to register as a sex offender for life. During what prosecutors described as a very lengthy and emotional sentencing hearing, five individuals who had either been victims of Miranda’s conduct or members of their families addressed the court to describe the toll the incidents dating back to 2002 have taken, according to prosecutors.
