Caltrans has implemented one-way traffic control on State Route 84 near La Honda as construction crews begin work on an erosion control project along San Gregorio Creek.
Temporary signals control the traffic restriction and includes additional safety measures, such as rumble strips, to alert drivers to lane reduction.
Electronic message signs have also been activated to provide advance notice to motorists, Caltrans said.
Crews are working weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to construct a retaining wall designed to prevent further erosion along the creek. Some weekend work may also be required, according to Caltrans.
Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays of up to five minutes during construction.
The project aims to stabilize the roadway and protect the creek from ongoing erosion, according to transportation officials.
