A Redwood City man was arrested Wednesday for breaking into Emily’s Cakes late Tuesday night and stealing dough from the cash register, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., the man, identified later by the Sheriff’s Office as Manuel Magdaleno, 28, broke into the business at 3102 Middlefield Road by shattering a glass door. He broke open two cash registers and stole money from inside before leaving. The business had high-quality video and deputies recognized Magdaleno from a previous burglary he committed in January, after which he was placed on probation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The next day, at about 11:48 a.m., deputies arrested him at his residence where there was also evidence linking him to the crime, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
