All lanes of southbound Interstate 280 have reopened in unincorporated San Mateo County on Thursday morning after a pool cleaning service truck overturned and spilled chlorine bleach, according to Cal Fire and California Highway Patrol officials.
The crash was reported shortly before 7:15 a.m. on southbound Highway 280 near the Upper Crystal Springs Reservoir and the interchange with state State Routs 92.
Cal Fire officials said the truck rolled over in wet weather, causing an estimated 24 gallons of chlorine bleach to spill. The driver was uninjured in the crash.
Hazardous materials crews responded to assess and clean up the spill and cleared the scene as of shortly after 9:30 a.m., according to Cal Fire.
