Four local seniors compete for $22,000 in Queen of the Festival scholarship

Four high school seniors have been selected for the Queen of the Festival scholarship program.

Now, the competition is on for the top $10,000 scholarship and the Queen of the Festival crown. A total of $22,000 in scholarship prizes will be awarded by the Sheriff’s Youth Program Fund. It is held in conjunction with the 12th Annual North Fair Oaks Community Festival on Aug. 25. The festival is a free multicultural event sponsored by San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Greg Munks. The most anticipated event the day of the festival is the crowning of the Festival Queen.
