A pickup truck driver was arrested in Foster City on Sunday morning after police said he inhaled air duster and nitrous oxide before crashing into a parked minivan on his way to work.
The Foster City Police Department said the crash happened around 10 a.m. when the driver allegedly mistook a red minivan for a parking space.
Photos released by police showed a gray GMC pickup wedged tightly against the side of a red Toyota minivan in a parking lot, with visible damage along the truck’s passenger side.
Police also released a photo showing several cans of compressed air duster and a nitrous oxide canister, which investigators said were connected to the impaired driving arrest.
No one was reported injured in the collision. The driver was taken to county jail on suspicion of impaired driving.
“There’s absolutely no excuse for impaired driving,” the department said. “The consequences last far longer than any temporary high!”
