Eleanor Arias of San Mateo, a member of the San Mateo Sheriff’s Activities League, was awarded the Female Youth of the Year Award at the National Police Activities League Conference in Washington D.C.
Arias joined the Sheriff’s Activities League when she was in seventh grade. She has accumulated over 725 hours of community service with the organization through toy drives, summer camps, home improvement projects for the elderly and more.

Jada Pan of Mills High School and Daniel Kim of Sequoia High School earned scholarships from the San Mateo County Association of Grand Jurors. They were selected for their commitment to community service, receival of stellar grades and having a comprehensive understanding of the role and value of the civil grand jury.
