LOS ANGELES — Child services workers checked on the children of Charlie and Brooke Sheen over the weekend for what was described Monday by the couple’s representatives as a routine checkup.
Sheen’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, said it was a scheduled, procedural visit. Brooke Sheen’s attorney, Yale Galanter, said it was a routine follow-up so that case workers in Aspen, Colo., could close a file opened after Charlie Sheen’s Christmas Day arrest.
The "Two and a Half Men” actor faces domestic violence charges in Colorado. He is accused of holding a knife to his wife’s throat and threatening to kill her at his Aspen home.
Representatives of child protective service agencies in Los Angeles and Aspen declined to comment on visit, saying they couldn’t confirm whether there was even an active case involving the Sheen children. The couple have twin baby sons who are nearly 1.
"They’re doing great,” Galanter said of the children.
Galanter said Brooke Sheen has been forced to move from a Malibu rehab facility, The Canyon, after the staff leaked her medical information.
Galanter declined to specify what Brooke Sheen was in treatment for. The Canyon states on its Web site that it offers treatment for a variety of drug, alcohol and mental illness conditions.
He said Brooke Sheen was in "ongoing treatment for rehabilitation because of the events of Dec. 25,” Galanter said. "She truly is committed to becoming the best person and mother she can be.”
A phone message for The Canyon was not immediately returned on Monday.
