When Myles Dietrich hooked up with Philip Zavala for a 30-yard touchdown to put host Capuchino up 6-0 early in the first quarter, it looked as if the Mustangs were on their way to an upset win over Aragon.
Then reality set in.
The Dons went on to score seven consecutive touchdowns - three by Dominic Williams and two by Eddie Williams - en route to a 47-20 Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division victory. After Capuchino's initial score, Aragon (3-1 overall, 2-0) dropped the hammer.
Numbers can sometimes lie, but not in this game. The Dons amassed 448 yards of offense to the Mustangs' 132. Capuchino (0-2 Bay Division, 0-4 overall) had minus-61 yards rushing at halftime before finishing with eight yards on 30 carries.
"Coach (Steve) Sell made it our mission to go out and dominate today," Eddie Williams said. "That's what we did. We came out a little shaky, but good teams are able to rebound. We were focused and prepared and it showed in the result."
In addition to the Dominic and Eddie Williams (no relation) show, Sitani Tau rumbled for a 36-yard touchdown and Matangi Tonga had a 49-yard touchdown run. Among the other highlights: Hanson Sekona added an 87-yard run before being tackled just short of the end zone on Aragon's second to last possession.
Dominic Williams led Aragon's 316-yard rushing attack with 103 yards on 16 carries, while Sekona finished with 91 yards on just three rushes. Tau and Tonga combined to rush for 111 yards on six carries. Noel Alexandre had another sharp outing, completing 5 of 8 passes for 132 yards and two scores.

Eddie Williams had three receptions for 96 yards and Sean Mosman added two for 36.
Zavala, one of the best wideouts in the PAL, continued his strong year with four receptions for 107 yards. Jake Richardson rushed for 61 yards on 15 carries and Dietrich was 6 of 18 for 124 yards despite being pressured heavily throughout. He was sacked five times by Aragon's blitz-happy defense. Tau led the way with two and a half sacks.
"When we got that first touchdown, our hopes were all up," Zavala said. "We drew first blood, but couldn't keep the momentum. We know it (the first win) will eventually come. There should be a light (at the end of the tunnel). The only way we're going to win is by working our (butts) off in practice and executing."
Two of the Mustangs' three touchdowns came in the fourth quarter when the game was all but over. Richardson scored on a 13-yard run and Michael Tupai scored from 3-yards out. After coming up empty on its initial possession, Aragon scored on seven of its next nine drives, highlighted by big plays.
The Dons ran wild, busting off 11 plays that went for 19 yards or more. Dominic Williams scored on runs of 4, 35 and 14 yards and Eddie Williams had touchdown receptions of 36 and 28 yards.
"Last week was an emotional win over a good team (Menlo-Atherton)," Sell said. "We didn't let down today and that's always a sign of a good team. When you play a game at Cap, it's never easy."
It was on this occasion.
