Sequoia can't keep pace with Rams

Nathan Mollat / Daily Journal Sequoia defensive lineman Nick Zmay pressures Willow Glen quarterback Mitchell Ravizza into an incomplete pass on this play. Zmay finished the game with three sacks and numerous quarterback pressures during the Cherokees' 47-14 loss in the CCS Division II championship game.

SAN JOSE – Late in the third quarter of the Central Coast Section Division II championship football game between No. 2 Sequoia and No. 5 Willow Glen, Rams quarterback Mitchell Ravizza dropped back to pass and had his arm hit as he released the ball.

The ball wobbled into the air — and into the arms of Jake Wilson, who turned a raced 36 yards for a 40-14 Willow Glen lead on its way to a 47-14 pasting of the Cherokees Saturday afternoon at San Jose City College.
