Garcia totaled four pins in the tournament to lead Serra to an eighth-place team finish, with five different Padres reaching the podium. The junior entered as the No. 1 seed at 161s, and emerged in the finals Saturday with a first-round pin over Buchanan’s Diego Montalvo. It marks Garcia’s fifth tournament win of the season, his last coming Dec. 30 at the Sierra Nevada Classic in Reno.

This year, the Padres earned five medals, including Luke Hanna, fifth place, 179s; Solomon Zumbado, sixth, 289s; Tristen Klemish, seventh, 194s; and Ryder Doleschal, eighth, 117s.
Hillsdale junior Troy Roser also reached the podium, taking eighth place at 194s. Klemish topped Roser in the seventh-place match with a 3-2 decision.
Mustangs-Oklahoma won the team championship with 299 points. Buchanan took second with 283, and Gilroy third with 271. Serra totaled 129 points to finish eighth.
