Senior Ella Choe scored a double hat trick to lead the Lady Knights (8-3) to a non-league home win over Carondolet. Choe added two assists and forced two turnovers, while senior Hannah Bernthal and sophomore Kaelee Wang added five goals apiece. Bernthal was a perfect 5 for 5 from on shot attempts, and totaled six draw controls. Sophomore goalie Tiergan Rowe recorded 11 saves.
Boys’ volleyball
Woodside 3, Sequoia 2
The Wildcats (7-0 PAL Ocean) won a five-set rivalry brawl 25-22, 27-25, 27-29, 21-25, 15-13 at Sequoia (5-2 PAL Ocean, 9-7 overall) in a key battle for outright control of first place in the PAL Ocean Division. Had Sequoia swung the race to 15 in final set, it would have forced a three-way tie with Woodside, Sequoia and Mills heading into the final month of the regular season.
Connor Esmond ran the Sequoia offense to the tune of 58 assists, feeding Grant Park for 22 kills, and Abraham Villedas for 17 kills.
In other action ...
Westmoor (3-4 PAL Ocean, 11-7 overall) swept to a 25-21, 25-18, 25-18 rivalry win at home over Jefferson (2-5, 2-10).

Serra senior Andrew Little endured a busy day to front the dual-meet victory for the Padres (4-1) at Mitty-San Jose (0-4). Little not only recorded a season best in the boys’ 3,200 meters in 11 minutes, 19.54 seconds, he featured on a 4x400 relay team with Joseph Bronzini, Nathan Miller and Cameron Nguyen to post a winning time of 3:48.21. Little also took second in the 800 with a season-best 2:06.15, with Bronzini taking first in 2:05.20. Sophomore Troy Marquez recorded two wins for Serra, hitting the tape in the 200 in 22.60, and anchoring the 4x100 relay team including juniors Gianni Cahalan, Bodhi Hsu and Makisi Unga for a time of 42.67.
