Hillsdale 4, San Mateo 2
The Knights beat the crosstown Bearcats in a tight match up as the teams combined for eight hits.
Hillsdale (4-1) scored single runs in the third and fourth innings before adding a two-run fifth. San Mateo (3-2) was held scoreless until scoring twice in the top of the sixth.
Tommy Schults had the big hit for the Knights, driving in a pair with a fifth-inning single, one of just three hits for Hillsdale.
But that was enough to make a winner of Liam Shaw, who worked into the sixth, giving up an earned run on three hits. Tyler Dang then replaced Jacob-Charlz Gementera in the top of the seventh, getting the final out to preserve the save.
Christian Louie homered and doubled for San Mateo, while also working four innings on the mound, giving up an earned run while striking out seven.
El Camino 7, Mills 4
A four-run top of the fifth finally gave the Colts some breathing room, but they had to withstand a four-ran Vikings rally in their final at-bat to secure the win.
Gabe Meriales had one of six doubles for El Camino (3-2), drilling a bases-loaded, two-bagger in the fifth. Hunter Tamayo also doubled for the Colts and added a pair of RBIs, as well.
Carlos Alcala got the win on the mound, going five innings of two-hit ball while striking out seven. Andrian Iniguez got the two-inning save.
Mills falls to 2-3 on the season.
Woodside 12, Lincoln-SF 2
The Mustangs took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the third, but the Wildcats scored six in the bottom of the inning to take control on their way to a mercy-rule win.
Woodside (4-2) scored 12 runs on 15 hits.
Softball
Woodside 15, Santa Clara 0
The Wildcats stayed undefeated as they notched their third straight mercy-rule win, extending their scoreless streak to 18 innings in a row.
Leading 3-0 after two innings, Woodside (5-0) put the game away with 11 runs in the third.
Marisa Calderon got the win in the circle, giving up just one hit in four innings of work.
Mo Overbey continues to swing a hot bat as she went 2 for 2 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored. Elizabeth Severin, Caroline Ong and Angelina Aranda all drove in a pair of runs, as well.
Santa Clara falls to 1-2 on the season.

Burlingame 11, Carlmont 5
The Scots jumped out to a quick lead, but the Panthers scored in every inning but the first as they cruised to the win.
Carlmont (2-3-1) scored twice in the top of the first. Burlingame (2-1) scored once in the second and took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the third. That was followed by three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Colette Uharriet and Brooke Arce each drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers, with Arce and Maddy Koo each collecting three hits.
Arce also got the win in the circle, working into the sixth inning. She gave up two earned runs on two hits while striking out nine.
Carlmont got RBIs from Alyssa Victory, Sydney Lapin and Micayla Lorber.
Los Altos 7, Sequoia 5
The Eagles picked up their first win of the season while the Ravens still search for their first victory.
Los Altos (1-3) took control early, scoring three times in the bottom of the first. The Eagles tacked on a run in the second before Sequoia (0-2) got on the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the fourth.
Down 7-2 going into the sixth, the Ravens scored two in the sixth and one more in the seventh, but the rally fell short.
Boys’ lacrosse
Menlo School 14, University-SF 1
Trevor van der Pyl had a hand in half of the Knights’ goals in their non-league win over the Red Devils.
Van der Pyl scored three goals and assisted on four more for Menlo (3-0). Caden Chock, Palmer Riley, Merrick Ward and Rio Yamada all had two goals, with the freshman Yamada scoring his first-ever varsity goal.
Menlo goalie Benjamin Chock made six saves, while Dylan O’Malley and Chase Brown won 14 of 17 faceoffs.
Girls’ lacrosse
Sacred Heart Prep opens with pair of wins
The Gators opened the 2026 season Saturday with a 16-4 win over visiting Cathedral Catholic-San Diego, followed by a 16-10 win over Coronado.
Boys’ tennis
Woodside 5, San Mateo 2
The Wildcats won three of four singles in dominant fashion on their way to the PAL Bay Division win over the Bearcats.
Lucas Kuo, playing at No. 3 singles, won his match at love, 6-0, 6-0 for Woodside (1-3 PAL Bay). Jordan Lee, playing at No. 2 and Cruz Nieva at No. 4 lost only two games each. Lee posted a 6-0, 6-2, decision while Nieva won 6-2, 6-0.
San Mateo (0-4) won the No. 1 singles match, with Dylan Chua posting a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
