Hannah Walker, Woodside softball. The senior right-hander has been nails through her last two outings. Walker turned in one of the finest starts of four-year varsity career two weeks ago in the Wildcats’ 11-2 win over Carlmont, setting a new career-high with 13 strikeouts in the complete-game victory, a performance that wasn’t recognized by the Daily Journal as there was no “Honor Roll” while we were recognizing our Winter Athletes of the Year. So, Walker returned last week to notch a new career-best, leading Woodside to a 10-1 win over rival Sequoia with a 17 strikeout performance.

Four of those homers came last week, including a solo shot in the Knights’ 11-7 loss to Half Moon Bay, followed by a three-home run game Saturday in a 17-1 over Aptos.
