Editor,
I’m so very happy to hear that Rob Newsom Jr., a supporter of the 2020 Measure Y on the city of San Mateo ballot (which voters passed), has announced his candidacy for the City Council in the November 2022 election.
Editor,
I’m so very happy to hear that Rob Newsom Jr., a supporter of the 2020 Measure Y on the city of San Mateo ballot (which voters passed), has announced his candidacy for the City Council in the November 2022 election.
Measure Y continues San Mateo’s sensible local approach to new development in much of the city.
Please support Rob, just like current Councilmember Eric Rodriguez does, along with Maureen Freschet, and several board members of neighborhood associations in Rob’s District 3. (source: Sue Lempert’s column in the The Daily Journal (Aug. 8, 2022).
The filing deadline for other candidates for City Council is Aug. 12.
Act today — encourage others to file for council in other open San Mateo districts, to join Rob in demonstrating a sincere commitment to local values.
We need diversity on our City Council.

Happy to learn today in Sue Lempert's column that former San Mateo State Senator Jerry Hill has endorse Robert Newsom for City Council this November. Onward Robert!
