Editor,
It was very disappointing to read the letter from Rick Bonilla about the upcoming California gubernatorial election.
The letter tries to tell the voters “how” to vote — but it does not explain “why,” which happens to be typical for Democrats lately.
Mr. Bonilla does not offer any reasons, other than “with the current President the stakes are too high” — whatever this means.
Mr. Bonilla urges the voters to rally behind one Democrat – apparently so that our California “jungle” primary does not produce 2 Republicans to face each other in the November election.
This has been the Democratic Party strategy from the moment all their candidates behind both Republican candidates in polls.
Mr. Bonilla simply puts this strategy on paper, as this will “keep Republicans out of governor’s office” – otherwise we will allegedly “risk a regression in policies affecting climate, education, healthcare, and civil rights.”
Really?
We had Democratic governors for the last 15 years, and what did we “achieve”?
Record high fraud. Disappearing tens of billions in funds which were supposed to be used for eliminating homelessness, unemployment benefits, hospices, high speed rail, etc. Shoplifting is not a crime.
The stolen money dissipates in a peculiar pattern — and causes, in large part, the high cost of living here.
California spending per student is 13th in the nation, yet we consistently rank around 38th in student scores.
Chronic budget deficits do not curtail wasteful spending — they call for more taxes.
If you want this pattern to change – vote accordingly.

Thanks for your letter, Zinovy, but when has Rick Bonilla written a letter that has not been disappointing? If you want a rehash of Democrat talking points, fake news and lies, along with advocacy of America Last policies, Mr. Bonilla is your man. When faced with facts, Mr. Bonilla ghosts us. Whatever Mr. Bonilla advocates for, I’d recommend running in the opposite (common sense) direction. It seems to me that the stakes are too high for Democrats to remain in power, anywhere.
And isn’t it ironic that Democrats always bellyache about billionaires and accuse others of being a Nazi yet these same Democrats are now pushing billionaire and Nazi tattoo sympathizer candidates. There are reports a Democrat candidate in Texas wants to send Zionists/Jews into concentration camps.
Let’s all continue to Make America Great Again, one blue state at a time, by voting for Steve Hilton. If you’re unable to and are afraid of going against the hypocritical Dem party, vote for the Democrat you least recognize. All Californians, even those who won’t admit it, will thank you.
