No actually Bob, the former president was tried and found guilty by a panel of twelve jurors who were vetted by attorney's from the defense and state...not quite the same, right Bob?
You feel certain Donald Trump's conviction was an entirely appropriate outcome. Will you feel just as certain that reversal of Donald Trump's conviction would be an entirely appropriate outcome if Donald Trump's conviction is reversed by the courts?
No twisting. You're 62 years too late... The Twist was a hit in 1962.
You're comment that a major portion of the judicial system is corrupt came as a bit of a surprise. Check Dirk's post.
I asked if this week's verdict in NY was a part of what you believe is a corrupt judicial system. No twisting. I'm guessing you laud the court decisions you find satisfactory... like key lime pie... but those you don't like... brussel sprouts... must come from the corrupt courts.
I've gotta go, Jorg. Things to do. Maybe Al or Michael... but not Al Michaels... will respond to my queries. So, in the words of Curly Bill Brocius, "Well... bye."
FFGig - it appears to me that you only believe in our judicial system when you agree with the outcome. I think even Jorg, see below, is onto it. As a former Enron employee, I was threatened by the DOJ to not interfere in their investigations, even though I had nothing to do with the C-level crimes. One of my colleagues, had to spend tens of thousands of dollars on attorney fees to keep the DOJ from prosecuting him. I knew for a fact that he was 100% clean but that did not seem to matter to the DOJ. It is all a game for them.
Jorg - regardless of who was the (p)resident, the DOJ and the State Dept have been corrupt for as long as they have existed. I believe the only, and last, honest DA around here is our Mr. Wagstaffe, unfortunately a dying breed.
Dirk & Ray, what a truly sad state that there are too many people like Jorg and FFGIG who are obviously well read, but unfortunately care little about the truth and humanity. Their hate for others is off the charts sad and their glee in illegally prosecuting a man is okay because the end justifies their emotional desires and means. The 12 jurors were more of the same ideologues because no one in their RIGHT mind would have voted guilty.
Please explain what part of Trump's trial was "illegal"...BTW, no one in their "right mind" would continue to scream "fraud", "rigged" etc. after they have lost an election and after numerous recounts had verified results, to say nothing of the minions who believe that garbage.
No Dirk, incorrect. Example, I did not agree with the acquittal of OJ Simpson, but respected the jury's decision. I was not in the courtroom to hear the evidence presented in that trial nor in Trump's...it is dangerous to mock and denigrate our judicial system. It is also dangerous to mock, denigrate and attempt to subvert our election results just because you don't win...right Dirk?
FFGig - having been a jury foreman and served on several local and federal juries, I am not convinced that the judicial system is anywhere as flawless as most believe. The movie " Twelve Angry Men" sums this is up well as it takes at least one member to stand up to the general preconception of the guilty party. Most jury members just want to go home and get it over with. If at least one such a jury member with character is not present, a verdict is reached without much discussion. I had to play that role once, and let me tell you, it was brutal. No, I did not respect the outcome of Simpson trial and the biased roles the jury played. I am not denigrating the judicial system but as an American citizen I am allowed to question its validity. The Trump trial begs for an appeal which will overturn the severely compromised decision by the jury that was instructed by a compromised judge.
Thanks for all the facts, I mean NO facts. Try NO crime, NO due process, NO standing for federal election fraud, a conflicted biased judge Merchen who donated to Biden's campaign which is 100% illegal, Merchen's daughter did as well, Soros paid for prosecutor Bragg who ran on attacking Trump, Manhattan jury which is not a jury of Trump's peers (A jury of one's peers today in the United States refers to the right to a trial by an impartial jury chosen from a cross-section of the community. The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees this right.)
Merchen not allowing the defense to call an expert on"election fraud". Merchen not allowing the defense to point out that the Federal government DOJ and the Election committee both chose NOT to try Trump.
Too bad FFGIG you keep your head in the sand with Jorg and can't be honest.
How is it dangerous? Oh, I got it, if I disagree with Jorg, or you or the State of NY, or the DOJ, our liberal non-judicial system who attacks those who disagree, will fight back and charge Trump, me or anyone with false crimes.
Had God's Code (The Ten Commandments) been posted on the Court walls, and given as jury instructions, this evil verdict/travesty of justice to our nation probably would not have happened.
8. THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR.
COMMANDS: truthfulness; respect for the good name of others; the observance of secrecy when required.
FORBIDS: lying; injury to the good name of others; slander; talebearing; rash judgment; contemptuous speech and the violation of secrecy.
If so, that wouldn’t have been the first time blind superstition has turned us away from truth, honesty and facts, - not to mention what’s in our own best interest.
Well Jorg, as usual you stand in the command position against truth and righteousness...
What is the biggest sin in the Bible?
One eternal or unforgivable sin (blasphemy against the Holy Spirit), also known as the sin unto death, is specified in several passages of the Synoptic Gospels, including Mark 3:28–29, Matthew 12:31–32, and Luke 12:10, as well as other New Testament passages including Hebrews 6:4–6, Hebrews 10:26–31, and 1 John 5:16.
"Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is conscious and hardened opposition to the truth, "because the Spirit is truth" (1 John 5:6). Conscious and hardened resistance to the truth leads man away from humility and repentance, and without repentance, there can be no forgiveness."
Preaching to Jorg will not work. Pray for him. I am unashamed to say I have seen the Spirit at work in my life. I know the truth. Pray for Jorg to see it, too.
Hey! It's not Sunday yet...
My wife and I wandered up to CSM this afternoon to enjoy Jazz on the Hill. A community jazz concert event hosted by the college, KCSM and... drumroll please... the Daily Journal! It was very special. Bay Area jazz icon Mary Stallings sang and was awarded CSM's Icon Award at the end of her set. Like I said... very special. What's this got to do with May 30? It proves life goes on.
Lou: You have no understanding of all the trouble superstition has led us, as well as the rest of the world, into, have you? Already forgotten that it was a voice from a made-up fantasy figure inside Bush Jr.’s head that told him to attack both Afghanistan and Iraq? Or do you think that was a good enough reason? Instead, you try to silence me by quoting from a made-up story book! How ridiculous!
Ray: Intentional or not, I could take “praying for me” as an insult to my intelligence! However, do you really think that praying for something or someone works? Who would be listening? And why didn’t he, she or it listen to all the praying for Holocaust and other horrible massacres, and do something about it? What possible evidence do you have? From a made-up story book of some sort?
Not sure why anyone would find well wishes… even in the form of a prayer… to be an insult. Your questions have been answered (in some cases more than once). For this latest round of queries… Yes, God, He did, history, no.
I am being treated/followed for three different cancers. I attend a cancer survivor group a couple of times a month at a local church. Everyone in the group has experienced some combination of surgery, chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy but prayer brings a powerful healing element to the group… individually and collectively.
Today, I’ll go fishing just like it says in Matthew 4:19. Have a great Sunday and even greater week.
Ray: If praying helps you, GREAT! I have no problem with that, but don’t pester me with it! I wish you well, though, and in my native language: "God bedring!” (And, for others on this site w/o your language skills: “God” means good, and has nothing to do with an imaginary figure way up high!)
Not So Common...please provide facts that prove "Soros paid for Bragg". BTW, if convicted felon Trump was prosecuted by "Biden's DOJ", as many MAGA sycophants claim, than please explain to me how that same "Biden DOJ", is prosecuting the president's son a few months before election...I'll wait for your typical uninformed response.
FFGIg you asked for reasons why the trial was illegal so I provided facts. And your reply was focused on proving that Soros paid for Bragg? Why don't you address the facts that I raised and look up for yourself how Soros donated to Bragg and other liberal, hate America, soft of real crime DA's like Glascon, Fani, etc...

Good morning, Al

The saner, better informed, and more honest majority of us would say a major part of the judicial system was corrupt!
Hello, Jorg
Are you saying the court process in NY this week was part of a larger corrupt judicial system?
As usual, you are twisting things around, Ray, especially when you can't cook up a good answer to something you don't like to see or hear.
Jorg...

This is for self-proclaimed atheist Jorg, I'm sure the lack of virgins and excessive heat will be fictitious and a superstition.

Lou,
What you say about the 8th commandment is a direct description of what Trump does everyday. Lies about people, has no respect for others, etc.
