The role of a city mayor is primarily focused on local matters and the community. In the diverse tapestry of suburban Millbrae life, a city mayor plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the needs and voices of every ethnic group are considered and respected.
At the April 9 Millbrae City Council meeting, Mayor Anders Fung had managed the meeting with dedicated balance between facilitating discussions between Israeli and Palestinian communities and exercising authority. The mayor had the entire Millbrae community in mind and adept handling of matters showcased effective leadership. It was particularly important when a controversial issue was on the agenda last night. Mayor Fung’s ability to navigate challenges while respecting the legal framework and the rights of the public to participate is commendable.
Mayor Fung has been a great mayor, but that night he shined. He put the entire community first. It is the blessing of having Mayor Fung who has the entire community in his mind and executed in Millbrae. Great work.

I’m a little confused… So passing the buck is considered effective leadership? And not for a local matter but for a matter of which Millbrae’s opinion means absolutely nothing? Is it really great work when one is wasting time and money?
I agree. Millbrae Council should have just tabled the proposal but didn’t have to courage to do so, like city councils have done. Instead, it bowed to a wishy washy solution which will end up resolving nothing but wasting valuable city resources.
